 Snowdonia Radio Company was formed in January 2008 by Simon Poyser (2W0SAK) a long time radio enthusiast from the early 80's. It was felt at that time that operators and radio hobbyists alike felt the need to purchase antennas and accessories and was willing to spend high prices for products that quite frankly they could build themselves, it was time for change, so SRC was formed. SRC has a very simple policy in the way it operates and will continue this way no matter what size it may grow into, that policy is to produce high quality products at a more affordable fair price with a service to match. It is very simple business that in our second year of trading has woken a few of the other UK companies up, and that cant be a bad thing for the industry and the hobby.
 SRC is based in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, a small town called Blaenau Ffestiniog. At about 280 meters the views and the local culture is breathtaking. Blaenau may be small but has good infrastructure, the traditional local post office is great at getting parcels to SRC's customers on time. And of course being at such a great height radio is pretty good, especially portable.
 SRC is run from a highly equipped small workshop currently and is aiming to move to new and larger premises at the end of October 2009. This will allow for much greater productivity while keeping the costs and retail prices low. Between now and then SRC hopes to grow in Staff numbers and amount of products available to the hobbyist, giving greater choice and a superior service to boot. Since May 2008 SRC has grown in size and reputation, this we feel has been due to good products being available and the SRC road show traveling across the UK to most rally's large and small and of course the growing and continuing support of our customers of which we are very great full.
 Owner and founder of SRC Simon Poyser (2W0SAK) has been a radio operator for many years, starting as a child CB radio enthusiast in the 80's and growing into the amateur he is now via a varied path. 2W0SAK is currently in his second term as chairman of the Meirion Amateur Radio Society contributing to many special events and club field events, he is also current Net Controller for the Meirion Raynet Group and a member of Porthmadog and District A.R.S. and contributes as one of the net controllers for the weekly sked nights. 2W0SAK's main interest is in HF digi modes and vhf internet linking, but still enjoys a good chinwag wherever he may be found.
