Snowdonia Radio Company was formed in January 2008 by Simon Poyser (MW0GSR) a long time radio enthusiast. The company began its life in a small but well equipped workshop in the back yard of Simon’s home. He had an idea of how he wanted the company to run on the back of a few simple principles, which are:
-Quality equipment that works.
-Product development, with proper test periods.
-Lower affordable retail prices.
-Never to be a greedy company, charging what we like.
-Proper help and advice for all levels of qualification.
-An open / transparent company, honesty all of the time.
SRC has used these principles in all of its activities, and it has paid off. SRC now has a very loyal customer base and is a brand name in its self. Our customers know that when they purchase an SRC product, it isn’t just the product they are buying; it’s the after care and the friendly support from the team they can be assured of.
SRC is based in Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales, which is a beautiful old slate mining town. The town is very small but very well populated and has all the amenities of the larger towns.
The new workshops we have occupied since November 2009 are modern and equipped with the very best manufacturing equipment, enabling quality workmanship and development while increasing productivity and expansion of the SRC range. We have an open door policy, this means while we are not a shop, we welcome visitors to come and meet the team and see the manufacturing process while of course being able to purchase any of the products
SRC’s future is very positive as we increase the range and customer base, and of course start becoming a household name within the amateur world. We will uphold the core principles of the company and strive to become a popular company with an ever-increasing range of products.
